Sezzle directs all questions and disputes from customers to you, the Merchant. Sezzle is reliant upon the Merchant to initiate any refund or return.
Sezzle will only process refunds following the issue of a refund request by the Merchant via the Sezzle Merchant Dashboard.
To initiate a refund in the Merchant Dashboard, follow this process:
Once a refund has been issued the process cannot be reversed.
Any refund other than the full order amount is considered a partial refund. The dynamics of the refund process are completely handled by Sezzle to simplify the process for our Merchants.
We process partial refunds in the following manner:
Example: If the order value is $200 and the customer has paid 1 installment of $50 then in case of a $60 partial refund Sezzle will cancel the customer's 4th installment of $50, and reduce the 3rd installment to $10.
In the case of a full refund, Sezzle will cancel all scheduled payments and refund any completed payments to the bank account or card initially selected for repayment. Sezzle will not initiate a refund until notified by the Merchant.
Once Sezzle has approved an order, the order details and order value cannot be changed. The Merchant is able to issue partial or full refunds if items are not in stock or cannot be fulfilled. Sezzle does not support the addition of items to an order.
A customer will need to place a new order for the additional items or cancel the previous order and create a new order for all the items if they wish to use Sezzle again on the same payment schedule.
To cancel an order, follow the refund process outlined above and refund the full amount of the order.
Once you're setup, transfers arrive in your bank account on a rolling 7-day basis. Settlements will be batched together for the total purchase amount, minus any Sezzle fees. Bank holidays can push payment settlement times, so please be aware of these holidays as you await Sezzle payment settlement.
As currency prices vary constantly, it’s not possible to know for certain the FX rate you’ll receive on a settlement. The online rate you see at various sites, such as XE.com, is the mid-market rate: the average prices at which people are buying and selling the currency. The actual FX rate includes markups from financial institutions. When Sezzle performs an FX conversion to settle your payments, funds are usually converted at a rate approximately 2% above the daily mid-market rate.
As an example, assume your business is based in Australia, you settle all charges in AUD, but you charge your U.S. customers in their native USD: You process a charge of $150 USD for your customer.
